HPE Discover 2020: What to Expect at This Year’s Virtual Event

The annual conference will focus on IT management, business continuity and how organizations can be more agile in an ever-changing world.

Agility is more important to businesses than ever amid the uncertainty of the global health crisis. Navigating that uncertainty will be the theme at Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s annual HPE Discover conference this year. Starting June 23, the virtual conference will roll out a huge lineup of both live and on-demand sessions that attendees can digest on their own schedule. While they will be “live” this week, most of the 150-plus sessions will be available to view for several weeks.

The new normal will have different demands if organizations want to be successful. An opening keynote from HPE CEO Antonio Neri will address how digital transformation and Everything as a Service can help business not only recover from the economic ramifications of the pandemic but also remain strong moving forward. BizTech will be following all the news and insights, including prominent sessions.

What Businesses Need on the Road to Recovery

As organizations start to shift toward recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and find new ways of working, the conference plans to shed light on how businesses can learn from other leaders in the industry. For example, women leaders in technology will be doing a panel focusing on the modern workplace and creating a nimble environment to succeed in the new normal. As major professional sports begin their return — without the live participation of fans — there will be sessions on how sports are delivering the fan experience in changed times.

Technology Can Aid in Menial Tasks

IT professionals are always looking for more time. Fortunately, technology can help make that happen. HPE Discover plans to help organizations tackle efficiency, helping IT professionals free up time to handle mission-critical work. One session will focus on how new advances in storage technology are building in intelligence and automation, allowing devices to be self-managed and freeing up time for staff.

Data Protection Is Key for Organizations

These days, data is everything. It’s how a business can gain insight into customers and operations, allowing them to make the adjustments needed to prosper. As data becomes more and more important to businesses, it’s imperative that data is secure. HPE Discover plans to address this in several sessions, including how Data Protection as a Service helps businesses to scale up and down, with on-demand elasticity based on their needs. The conference will also be covering software-defined storage, which helps businesses maintain high availability and avoid bottlenecks in their environments.
