CrowdStrike Fal.Con 2026: CrowdStrike Announces Falcon Guardian and Safe Mind for AIDR

With the rapid proliferation of agentic artificial intelligence, businesses need solutions that can detect and respond to threats at machine speed.

Artificial intelligence agents are being spun up for every imaginable use case, but not every agent is developed to deliver greater efficiency and productivity. Malicious actors are leveraging AI for faster attack methods, and many organizations are discovering they aren’t adequately prepared to defend themselves.

According to the CrowdStrike 2026 Global Threat Report, the last year has seen an 89% increase in attacks by AI-enabled adversaries. Recent research by CDW also indicates high rates of AI-fueled attacks: 43% of respondents to the company’s survey said their organization had experienced phishing attacks either enhanced or generated by AI, while 37% reported having been hit by AI-powered malware in the past year.

At this week’s CrowdStrike Fal.Con, the theme was “Securing the AI Revolution.” CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz presented the opening keynote session with a comprehensive consideration of the ways in which agentic AI is reshaping cybersecurity. Attackers are using agents to uncover and exploit vulnerabilities, but as Kurtz said, “No one has built AI for the defender.” Until now.

AI Demands Its Own Form of Detection and Response

 “Today, AI is the new battleground,” Kurtz said in the at the outset of the event, noting that every major period of growth in computing brings about an expansion of the attack landscape. “We’ve been there for some of the most consequential attack surface changes in the world, and the AI agent is the next one.”

To palpable excitement, Kurtz announced the launch of Falcon Guardian, designed to deliver AI detection and response (AIDR) to help organizations “not only understand their risk, understand what’s running, but more importantly, accelerate AI adoption in your own organizations.”

“CrowdStrike pioneered EDR by making the endpoint the control point for stopping attacks. AI demands the same approach,” Kurtz said in a press release the same day. “AI hasn’t changed the attack, it has changed its speed. Governance alone can’t stop an agent already in motion. Falcon Guardian turns policy into protection, stopping threats where AI agents execute and before they can cause harm.”

Guardian Offers Help in Identifying and Securing Shadow AI

One of the greatest cybersecurity challenges arising from the surge in agentic AI is the lack of visibility. As companies encourage their employees to learn about, leverage and deploy agents of their own creation, they aren’t always aware of what’s in their ecosystem.

Kurtz presented a video introducing Falcon Guardian, which explained that many organizations don’t know where their own AI agents are running, who deployed them or what risks they might introduce. “Guardian changes that. It starts with discovery. Guardian maps your entire AI agent fleet, known as shadow AI, across every endpoint,” he said.

In a separate keynote, CrowdStrike President Michael Sentonas explained why Guardian will be so valuable: “Once AI becomes part of the enterprise, visibility is no longer enough. You need to know what’s running, what it can access, what it is doing, where to draw the line. That is Guardian.”

“It gives you runtime visibility across the entire AI estate,” Sentonas said. “What your agents are doing, what they’re accessing, what actions they’re taking, whether you know about it or not, and where you need to step in.”

CrowdStrike Introduces SafeMind for Greater AI Security

Kurtz continued to highlight CrowdStrike’s new innovations with an offering developed through a partnership with NVIDIA.

“Together with NVIDIA, we built cybersecurity’s first complete agentic system for cybersecurity, including the first frontier models and harnesses purpose-built for defenders,” he announced. According to an accompanying press release, CrowdStrike SafeMind is the first agentic system for defenders, and it was built with NVIDIA Nemotron.

Kurtz presented SafeMind at the event alongside Jensen Huang, president and CEO of NVIDIA. “Our AI researchers love working with yours,” Huang told Kurtz. “Together with our domain expertise — your decade and a half of security data that we can train on — we can create Nemotron, take a frontier model and make it essentially a super AGI that is incredibly good at cybersecurity. And then, you put it into a system called SafeMind, with red-teaming, blue-teaming, the two adversarially working against each other in a digital twin of NVIDIA and testing it against that. I mean, that’s completely brilliant.”

Huang said he thinks we need SafeMind everywhere. “We need it obviously inside our companies. We need it in the cloud. We’re going to need it at the edge. We’re going to need it at the distributed edge.”

He said the basic framework of SafeMind applies to robotics, edge computing, enterprise computing and more. “In every single one of these systems, we could create something like SafeMind. We could use the SafeMind framework and create essentially a cybersecurity agent that runs alongside the AI model itself.”

Sentonas summed up the potential of an innovation such as SafeMind by saying, “This is incredibly important. Our world is changing, and we’re going to have to start to think differently. We’re always going to have a human in the loop, but that model is going to change. Adversaries will use autonomous AI to find weaknesses, to adapt, to attack. I challenge everyone to think the same.”

“Defenders need AI that can do the same,” he said. “Defenders need to start to think about AI working against AI continuously, autonomously, many times before a human even knows there’s a fight. This is where this is all going, and I believe AI is going to move us faster and give us a really powerful thing: trust, where trust can become an advantage.”
