Galaxy Connected Experiences and Secure Devices: Samsung Powers the Way We Work Now

The Samsung Galaxy Connected Experience unites all of your Galaxy devices.

The way we work has changed. Today’s workplace is “hybrid by default,” according to Gartner.

However, for small and medium-sized businesses, this poses a challenge: balancing the device performance employees want with the security companies need. The good news? Samsung’s  Galaxy Connected Experience gives IT leaders a more secure and intuitive hybrid work experience on their devices.  Here’s what IT leaders need to know.

Addressing the Application Overload Issue

Too often, applications and devices create unnecessary complexity. In fact, users toggle between different applications and websites 1,200 times per day, according to The Harvard Business Review. With the “attention cost” of switching coming in at just over two seconds, this means staff lose approximately four hours per week reorienting themselves on applications.

In the case of multiple devices, wasted time only increases. Consider a hybrid worker equipped with a desktop PC, laptop, tablet and smartphone. When a call comes in, the worker answers on their smartphone, but as the conversation goes on, they realize they need access to a spreadsheet stored on their desktop. This typically leads to wasted time as users remotely connect to in-office desktops and email required files to themselves.

The Galaxy Connected Experience, which is a feature rather than a stand-alone product, consolidates this process. Whether you’re answering calls on your Galaxy Tab or opening mobile apps on your Galaxy Book, Galaxy breaks down barriers, offering one connected experience that integrates every aspect of your digital life. And with Samsung’s built-in Knox security architecture, users can rest assured that all of the devices they switch among are secure.

“You can now move your cursor from your laptop to your phone as if they are one device. Images from your Samsung phone’s gallery can be dragged to your Galaxy PC’s desktop, and you can even use your Galaxy PC’s keyboard to type on your phone,” writes Chris Balcik, vice president of federal sales for Samsung Electronics America’s mobile B2B division, in an article for CDW.

To take advantage of this multicontrol function, users must navigate to Galaxy phones or tablets using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. However, this feature only works on Galaxy PCs running Windows 10 or later (2021 or later) and either a compatible Galaxy Tablet (Android 12, One UI 4.1 or later) or a compatible smartphone (Android 13, One UI 5.1 or later). Devices must have Bluetooth and be signed in to the same Samsung account and Wi Fi network.

Exploring the Galaxy Connected Experience

The Galaxy Connected Experience also unites your phone, PC, tablet, Buds and Watch, bringing all of your devices together so you can do more with less effort.

“Galaxy breaks down barriers for one connected experience. Users seamlessly shift from reviewing spreadsheets on their Galaxy S24 smartphones on their Galaxy Book PCs at an office workstation without needing to email files to themselves,” says Brad Haczynski, senior vice president and general manager of Mobile eXperience B2B at Samsung.

DIG DEEPER: Modern collaboration tech tools are better than ever.

Here are a few of the key features of the Galaxy Connected Experience:

Syncing data and applications across devices. “With the Link to Windows feature, users can open recent applications from their phones straight to their desktop equivalents,” Haczynski says. Link to Windows also enables the user to drag and drop files, open mobile apps on the desktop, and even take calls and respond to texts, all without touching the phone.

Sharing files instantly. “Using the Quick Share feature, employees can seamlessly and instantly share files across devices, eliminating the need to find and email files for collaboration,” Haczynski says.  However, it’s worth noting that this feature is only available on Android 11 (One UI 3.1) or later and PCs running Windows 10 or later. Users must be logged in to the same Windows and Samsung accounts on both devices and have Bluetooth and Wi Fi connections. This also requires initial setup on both a smartphone (in the Link to Windows app) and Galaxy Book (in the Phone Link app).

Making calls. “Staff can take calls and respond to texts directly from the device of their choice — their smartphones, Galaxy PCs, phones or tablets,” Haczynski says.

Enhancing Overall Security

With Samsung’s Galaxy Connected Experience, users can effortlessly manage their daily tasks and stay connected across multiple platforms. Thanks to advanced encryption and multilayered protection, data is secure so users can work with peace of mind.
