Cisco Live 2026: Cisco Introduces New Offerings To Improve Observability in the Agentic Era

Cisco Live 2026 was undeniably the year of Cisco Cloud Control, as the company introduced new capabilities to provide observability of human activity as well as agents powered by artificial intelligence. Not only do these offerings allow visibility into your entire ecosystem, but with Live Protect, systems are being made far more resilient through a new means of mitigating vulnerability exposure between patches and updates. This kind of protection has become even more critical in an era that demands artificial intelligence-powered cyber defense, as noted in a recent Cisco blog following the introduction of Anthropic’s Claude Mythos. As Anthony Grieco, Cisco’s chief security and trust officer, says in the blog, “AI is accelerating the pace of innovation for both defenders and adversaries alike. The question is simply who gets ahead of it and how fast.”

Participants

Peter Bailey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Security, Cisco

John Hoenemier, Director of Network Data Security, Global Foundries

Patrick Lin, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Observability, Splunk, a Cisco Company

Scott Malone, Vice President of IT Infrastructure, Geodis

Video Highlights

  • Cisco’s Peter Bailey emphasized the new parameters agents are introducing for cybersecurity, saying organizations need “to create an environment where you can authenticate and monitor and look at their behavior and be able to secure those agents in terms of enforcement and revoking privileges in real time.”
  • In discussing the need for observability with artificial intelligence agents, Cisco’s Patrick Lin said, “Every time there is a big shift in application architectures, not only is it something that creates a pool behind it for new infrastructure, new compute, storage, networking and so on, but also, typically, you need different ways to measure and understand the health and performance of these things.”
  • Both GlobalFoundries and Geodis are Cisco customers that are leveraging the provider’s new offerings to minimize vulnerabilities while optimizing the use of agentic AI to make their operations both more efficient and secure.
