Citrix Synergy 2017 to Map Out the Future of Work

Citrix’s annual conference will highlight solutions for cloud and virtualization that can help businesses build the workspaces of tomorrow.

What is the future of work and the digital workplace? Citrix thinks it has the answer.

At next week’s Citrix Synergy 2017 conference in Orlando, Fla., the company plans to outline its vision for creating and powering the workspaces of the future, ideas that will enable businesses to get more value out of technology.

Expect to hear a lot about how your organization can use cloud and adopt cloud technologies in ways that minimize disruption to operations; new security approaches and architectures that help mitigate risk; and the ability of next-generation networking to modernize data centers in a multi-cloud world.

On the first full day of the conference, Citrix CEO Kirill Tatarinov will kick the event off with a keynote on Citrix’s plans to create the workplace of the future, and will be joined by Tim Minahan, senior vice president and CMO of Citrix; James Noga, CIO of Partners HealthCare; and Karyn Jeffery, head of digital workplace services, global delivery, at Fujitsu. There will also be a technology keynote later in the day to take a deep dive into Citrix’s new technology announcements, led by PJ Hough, Citrix’s senior vice president of product, and Brad Anderson, corporate vice president of enterprise mobility at Microsoft.

The agenda also includes talks from noted author Malcom Gladwell and former Secretary of State Colin Powell. Gladwell will provide insight on how humans can thrive in a world of artificial intelligence; Powell will offer his thoughts on how businesses can organize themselves to enhance security.

Why might this year’s Synergy conference be different from those of years past? Mark Bowker, senior analyst at research firm Enterprise Strategy Group, told TechTarget that whereas Citrix has previously put its technologies in siloes (GoToMeeting, XenDesktop, XenApp, XenMobile, NetScaler, CloudBridge, ShareFile, etc.), he expects to now see Citrix bring its tech together as a unified platform.
