Millennials' Impact on the Workforce [Infographic]

Is your workplace built to handle the millennial revolution?

"The millennials are coming, the millennials are coming!"

If Paul Revere were alive today, instead of heralding the arrival of the British, he might be occupied with the arrival of millennials to the workplace.

Milliennials are those cool kids born in the late 1970s through the early 2000s. They go by many names, like Generation Y or digital natives, but they bear a few common traits. Cymphonix, an Internet management solutions provider, highlights a few of these traits in its infographic on millennials.

  1. Millennials have an increased use of technology compared to previous generations.
  2. Millennials use many forms of communications.
  3. Millennials access many forms of media regularly.

More than previous generations, millennials care about flexibility, choice and freedom. That means businesses need to be equipped with mobile-friendly policies and remote-access options if they hope to retain millennial workers. According to data from Cymphonix, 50 percent of millennials say they would rather have no job than a job they hate.
