If Apple’s iPhone were a human being, at five years old it’d be on its way to kindergarten. That seems to be an apt analogy for a device that, upon arrival, heralded a new era but still has plenty of room to grow.
Back when Steve Jobs first unveiled the iPhone in 2007, confidence in Apple’s ability to shake up the smartphone industry the same way it had shaken the music industry with the iPod was low. There were plenty of naysayers. They, however, were proved wrong.
