Cisco Live 2016 to Spotlight Network Evolution, Internet of Things Innovations

The annual conference will focus on how advances in cloud, mobility, network infrastructure and other technologies are reshaping business.

For business, the network of today may be the network of tomorrow, but probably won’t be the network of five years from now. The future network technology — an increasing number of mobile connections, mostly related to the growth of the Internet of Things —is going to be front and center during the Cisco Live 2016 conference, which the BizTech reporting team will be covering from July 10-14 in Las Vegas.

The conference will offer attendees numerous technology tracks to follow, covering many key digital technologies, including cloud, collaboration, data center, digitization, enterprise networks, Internet of Things, mobility, network transformation and security.

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins is going to deliver the opening keynote on July 11, and will explain Cisco’s vision for helping businesses succeed amid a rapidly changing digital landscape. The conference will feature a series of “Innovation Talks,” which will focus on different technologies, including next-generation data centers, the importance of analyzing data generated by IoT, how software-defined networks will change the way business gets done, and the future of collaboration tools in the workplace.

Other keynote speakers will include Jason Silva, the futurist and host of National Geographic’s Brain Games show, who will explore “exponential technology and the future of humans.” Cisco Chief Technology Officer Zorawar Biri Singh will discuss with partners from EMC, Intel and Solidfire how businesses around the world can make the most of digital technologies in an increasingly complicated world. And be sure to stick around for a keynote on the last day by actor Kevin Spacey, who will offer his take on how technology is disrupting the entertainment industry and the way content is delivered and experienced.

BizTech will be covering Cisco Live 2016 from the show floor, and interviewing industry executives and experts on the latest trends in networking and IT.
