If the future of banking is mobile, shouldn’t more banks and credit unions get on board with the mobile revolution?
A new deal between Jack Henry & Associates, a provider of technology solutions and payment processing services, and CDW will make Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablets available for purchase by financial services organizations, according to an official announcement by Jack Henry.
The advantage of a Surface over other tablets is that it can work as a mobile device but also has the heft and might to serve as a notebook computer.
Mark Forbis, chief technology officer at Jack Henry & Associates, elaborated on the strategic shift that this new partnership among CDW, Microsoft and his firm offers to financial services providers.
“This partnership is a pivotal step in helping our customers build the branch of the future, and Branch Anywhere is the perfect tool for that transition," he explained. "As banks look for ways to transform the branch experience, Surface tablets enable a single-device approach that saves banks time and costs, as they do not have to deploy and manage separate hardware – one device acts as a full desktop workstation or a secure mobile tool. We are confident that the power and flexibility provided by Surface Pro 3 is a strong fit for the financial services industry.”
Mobile banking has, for the most part, been traditionally focused on customer experience, but by arming branch employees with their own mobile devices, banks and credit unions can take one more step toward creating the ideal, innovative branch of the future.
“With the recent launch of Jack Henry & Associates’ new Branch Anywhere application, there’s a natural fit with Surface to jointly help customers in the new world of branch transformation,” said Cyril Belikoff, senior director with Microsoft Surface. “Because of its combination of mobility and power, Surface has seen great success with banks that are looking to transform their branches or provide greater mobility to their employees.”
Financial services companies won’t have to go it alone because all three partners are teaming up to advise and guide them through their deployments of the Surface tablets.
“The customer solution the two organizations can now offer will no doubt enhance the experience of financial services customers,” said Ben Weiss, director of financial services sales at CDW.
