With small businesses considered to be the backbone of the economy, a lot of time is spent trying to figure out what drives their growth, profitability and success.

But according to survey data pulled from a recent Intuit infographic, money isn’t the main motivation for the majority of small-business owners.

Sixty-seven percent of small-business owners said that passion was their main reason for starting a small business. Meanwhile, only 21 percent said they got into business to pay the bills.

Intuit asked small-business owners other questions about where they work (office/place of business and home were tied) and what device they worked on most (the notebook won).
