Surf's Up: The Notebook Is Ready for the Beach [Infographic]
It’s not yet officially summer, but we’re close enough to start thinking about heading out to the seashore for rest, relaxation and sunshine.
Microsoft has its mind on summer vacation, too: The company has put together a handy infographic based on survey data, outlining the way people use technology when they hit the beach. Surprisingly, the faithful notebook PC reigned supreme as the go-to device for travelers, although the smartphone wasn’t too far behind.
Here are some highlights from the Microsoft infographic:
- 75 percent of respondents plan to take a notebook to the beach.
- 1 in 3 admitted to using a notebook as an excuse not to socialize while traveling.
- Men are 2 times more likely than women to spend more than 5 hours on their notebooks.
- 36 percent of respondents have lost their vacation photos.
