NRF 2025: The Emerging Technology Currently Elevating the Retail Shopping Experience
AI was the headlining act at NRF 2025: Retail's Big Show in New York City, but retailers are leveraging other emerging forms of technology as well, all in an effort to provide an improved and seamless shopping experience.
CDW's Gina Cox, senior retail IT advisor, acknowledged the many use cases for AI in retail, but she also highlighted virtual humans and visual intelligence as valuable tools in elevating the customer experience. Leaders from other tech providers, such as Justin Honaman of AWS, Matthew Guiste of Zebra Technologies and Carl Rysdon of Ricoh USA, share in the enthusiasm around AI, but they also touted the value of augmented reality and virtual reality, as well as digital kiosks and point-of-sale systems.
