‘No Limits’ for VMworld 2014
The world's largest virtualization and cloud computing event, VMworld 2014, is right around the corner. How will you be spending your time?
Now in its 11th year, VMworld’s U.S. conference promises to bring together more than 23,000 thought leaders, IT professionals and virtualization industry experts under one massive roof, the Moscone Center in San Francisco, from Aug. 24-28.
The theme for this year's conference is "No Limits." Karen Steele, vice president of corporate marketing at VMware, said the choice for the theme was all about the growing dominance of the software-driven mobile cloud.
"The Mobile-Cloud era has arrived — and it's all about software. Software that empowers IT to break down walls, demolish barriers and reveal the opportunities ahead. Software that's already making IT more capable, more accessible, more reliable — and delivering real results," she said in a press release.
Conference attendees can choose from 535 sessions presented by 250 industry leaders and VMware's partners, along with spotlight sessions from VMware officials.
Partner Day, on Sunday, Aug. 24, gives VMware executives and key partners a dedicated platform to share the latest solutions with attendees. The Partner Lounge, on the third-floor atrium of Moscone West, is where partners and attendees can network, grab a drink and charge up devices. There also will be a free video studio for creating professional videos of conference news and industry interviews.
The agenda for Partner Day is available for download on the official VMworld site.
The Hands-On Labs are another popular feature back this year. These offer a series of demonstrations that let attendees test-drive the latest products, features and solutions from VMware and its partners. The space will be packed with more than 200 of VMware's product experts, who can guide users through the paces of tomorrow's tech.
