BizTech magazine's coverage of the annual International Legal Technology Association conference, which took place on August 26-30, 2012 in Washington D.C., offers insight and advice from senior IT leaders in legal services.
We spoke with CIOs and IT workers about important topics and trends affecting law firms, including BYOD, mobility, cloud computing and network security. We also covered panel discussions about firms preparing for Windows 8 and attorneys using iPads at work.
For 35 years, the best and brightest minds in legal services technology have been gathering every year to discuss lessons learned and trade ideas. ILTA 2012 certainly didn't disappoint on that front. There were nearly 200 sessions and the advanced curriculum track allowed for deep, detailed discussions.
The theme for ILTA this year was ac2dc. Conference co-chairs Rachelle Renmagel and Kathy Lentini say it means different things to different people. In one respect, it's a play on electricity (direct current and alternating current). In another, it's a nod to the legendary rock band. For those looking for a more straightforward meaning, annual conference to DC will do.
