When it comes to job prospects, IT workers have a lot to cheer about. Compared to many other professions, the IT field is set to see a healthy amount of growth in the next 10 years.

But those rosy prospects also invite increased competition. So how can IT workers set themselves apart? Certifications are one way.

Cisco certifications in particular offer industry-recognized credentials for network and system admins. The certifications run in three tracks: routing and switching, voice and security. IT workers possessing Cisco certifications can expect to earn more and with Cisco Certified Internetwork Experts (CCIE) in more than 120 countries, opportunites are plentiful.
